Is Lack of Time Preventing You From Losing Weight? (No Time For Healthy Cooking or Exercising)

I hear this all the time......

If I had time to cook, then I would be able to lose weight.

If I had more time, then I could go to the time, I would be able to lose weight and get in shape.

I get it!

It's really not that easy.....

Especially if you don't have a plan.

I mean, you probably have one or more kids at home, you most likely work, have a home to take care of, a husband to pay attention to, homework with kids, after school activities, sports, etc.

It can be extremely overwhelming and exhausting, not to mentions stressful.

 

Work Too Much, Kids Keep You Too Busy

I have worked with people who work 6 days a week 15 hours a day.   That is pretty crazy right?

How does a person like that have the time to invest into cooking healthy meals and exercising so that they can actually lose weight and get in shape?

Seems impossible.

Until, they start planning.  Until they start making their health a priority.

When you DECIDE to make your health, your body, your fitness a priority.......  Anything is possible.

Trust me, in the last 2 decades, I have seen and worked with people from all walks of life and people like the one I just described that worked 15 hours a week/6 days a week.  

And I have been able to help them make it happen.

Listen, I make it happen.

And through the changes of having one child, and then the second child in the middle of a growing business while still working and training clients, I have been able to do it.

How?

I make a PLAN.

I want you to know that no matter how busy you are, no matter what your circumstances are......  You can do this.

I am going to help you make your own plan so that you can lose weight, get in shape and finally feel comfortable in your own body, confident, full of energy and living at your TRUE POTENTIAL.

My friends ask me all the time......  How do you do it?

Here are some of the questions I get all the time:

  • How is your house so clean with the kids and work?
  • You cook every day?  How do you have time to cook with work and the kids?
  • You get up at 4am? How do you do that?
  • You workout at 5am and you have small kids, what time do you go to sleep? 

I remember being so overwhelmed after I had my second child......

I had her in the middle of a huge growth spurt for my business. 

I was still working training clients, my son was only 3 1/2, I had to take care of my home, my son was now in after school sports activities and I was incredibly overwhelmed.

I didn't know how I would still have time to workout, cook as much as I used to without my work and business being hurt.

But I did it.

It wasn't easy but I did it.

I knew that the reward from putting in the work and the sacrifices would be well worth it.

I would rather be healthy, set a good example for my kids, and feel good about myself than the opposite.

So I committed to making a plan and sticking to it.

So I followed these steps, that if you follow, you will totally be able to make it happen, no matter how many kids you have, how much you work or how busy your life is.

Before I give you the steps to losing weight, I just want to give you some tips with the foods you are eating because if you don't change this..... none of what I will talk about here will matter or make an impact in your weight loss. 

These are foods that I took out of my diet that helped me get in the best shape of my life even after having 2 kids.

Because it’s not just about planning, shopping and cooking even though it’s a big part of it.

I have found that a lot of people are “STUCK” with their weight loss because they are eating some of the wrong foods.

So I have to make sure you are not eating one or more of foods on this list.  Because if you are, it can be completely SABOTAGING your results.  Yes, it can totally be true that you can be working your butt off at the gym 6 days a week, eating super healthy (as you think), but if you are eating one or more of these foods, you will NOT BE ABLE TO LOSE WEIGHT.  The reason is because these foods though some may think are healthy or not so bad, are actually very inflammatory.

Inflammation in the digestive track makes it incredibly hard if not impossible to burn fat. So in order to be able to burn fat so you can lose weight effectively, its crucial that you take these foods out of your diet.

3 Steps To Losing Weight & Getting Fit

  • Decide to make your health and fitness a priority.
  • Make a plan and commit to it.
  • Be consistent with your plan, do things on a recurring basis.

Sometimes it takes something drastic to get you to decide to make your health and fitness a priority.

  • It may be a blood test with high cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, sugar levels.........
  • It may be a sickness or disease.......
  • It may be a divorce........
  • It may be stress and anxiety, depression.......
  • It may be wanting to get off medications......
  • It may be for your kids......
  • It may just be wanting to see what you are capable of doing to your body.

Regardless of what it is, it's important that you make a plan and that you do it right because if you don't then you get disappointed with the results and you QUIT.

I DON'T WANT YOU TO QUIT!

Steps To Making Your Plan To Lose Weight

  • Set ONE day that will be the same day every single week to make a MEAL PLAN for the whole week. 

Actually right it down in your calendar and every week on the same day, you sit down and write out what you will eat every day.   Set alarm notifications if you need to for reminders.

Example:

Monday:  Apricot Glazed Salmon and Spinach Rice

Tuesday:  Tropical Chicken and Asparagus & Tomato Medley

  • Set ONE day per week to do your groceries for the week.  (Make sure its the same day every week.)

**Set an alarm or reminder that is weekly for this.

**Make a shopping list on your phone so that its always with you.

**Only buy the things that are on your list.

**Here is a Shopping List I made for you to stock up your pantry, fridge and freezer the healthy way.

  • Set days and times when you can cook.  Make these be days and times that you can do this on a recurring basis (same day same time every week).

**Set an alarm or reminder that is weekly and recurring to remind you to cook.

**You may be able to cook every night, if so, what time will you cook?  Ex: Every day at 5pm.

**You may only be able to cook twice per week, will that be every Tuesday and Saturday at 6am?

  • Before you leave your house pack up however many meals or snacks you need for the day.
  • Set days and times for your workouts.  Make these days and times you can commit to doing every single week.

**Schedule these in your calendar and set reminders for yourself.

It's Not Easy At The Beginning.

Let me tell you something...........  Nothing in life worth having comes easy.

This is probably going to be a huge change for you.  

You may have to wake up earlier or stay up later.  

You may have to give up watching your favorite TV show or cut back on surfing the net.

You may go to one less lunch with a friend, you may cut back on a nap.

But it will be so worth it!

I know you may be thinking you still can't do this.  I mean, do I know your schedule?  You work tons of hours, you run your kids around all day long, you stay up with kids homework, you clean, there is no way.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE THINKING OR

WHAT YOUR SCENARIO IS,  THERE IS A WAY!

Without starting with so many but's, why don't you sit peacefully for a few minutes and start thinking what things that aren't productive in your life can you take out or cut back on.  Because those are the very things that can give you an extra 15 minutes to write down your meal plan, or an extra hour to cook for the week.

Think of a few days that you can make an effort to wake up earlier than you normally do.  Maybe those are 3 days a week you sacrifice but you can either get your workouts done or you can cook during those times.  Maybe half and half.

Sit down with your calendar and plan out your week.  Look at it all in one glance.  See where you can change things around that will save you time so that you can make extra time for your shopping, cooking, planning or exercising.  You will be surprised that when you organize your calendar, your schedule and your to-do's, you can make them more efficient and cut time in some places to make time for things that are more productive and important.

Ive seen so many people do it, I myself have done it and you can too!
